Inpatient-Residential Drug Rehabs and Treatment Centers in California

California Drug Rehabs and Addiction Treatment Centers

The State of California and its various major cites & regions such as; Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Malibu, Palm Springs and the San Francisco Bay Area have become known worldwide as the primary hub for addiction & alcoholism treatment services.  Southern California, especially, has become even more well know for providing some of the nation’s most high-end, luxury treatment centers which boast some extraordinary ancillary recovery services such as sober & life coaching, neurofeedback, brain mapping, holistic rehabilitation services, concierge and much more!  At the same rate, due to the state’s (and local) generous funding services for the indigent, there are also a tremendous amount of free and very affordable drug rehabs throughout as well.

In addition to feeling such a major effect from nearby border smuggling, California also sees very easily obtained medicinal marijuana which many would argue is a contributing factor to the growth in need for addiction & alcohol treatment centers.  As a matter of fact, statistics are showing an ever rising trend in men and women under the age of 18 entering inpatient addiction treatment centers with THC being a primary component in their addiction.

Inpatient Treatment Rehab or Drug Rehabs in CaliforniaThere are many important questions to ask prior to entering any type of recovery related facility.  Aside from the initial important questions such as cost of treatment, insurance accepted, locations and so on, there are other more core questions to ask pertaining to the recovery and clinical services provided. It is important to carefully weigh both, the clinical and non-clinical services offered.  How can you or your loved one best determine which treatment center is most likely to help promote long term, quality sobriety? It’s not about just staying sober, it’s about making a whole new life based on a foundation of recovery! Here are a few questions to consider asking:

  • Will entering a residential treatment center in California (as opposed to any other state) be more beneficial or less beneficial based upon the client’s specific needs? What impact might it have with consideration to the client’s or the client’s family’s actual location?
  • Is the facility 12-Step based, non 12-Step based, hybrid, holistic, etc?
  • What does the day-to-day clinical schedule of recovery services entail?
  • Does the facility or staff track their program graduates and measure the rate of success in terms of how many remain sober and for how long?
  • What type of outside recovering community and support groups are available throughout Southern & Northern California, and especially its major cities like Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, etc?

COMMENTS:

This lovely staff had their hands full with me!  I was such a dark, depressing, drunken mess with a bit of a pill habit too.  My daughters and ex-husband had lost all faith and hope for me.  I think they sent me here to just get a breather from me!  I wasn’t mean, just so morbidly depressed that I brought everything around me down with my darkness.  I hated life and myself and was really only living for my daughters though I couldn’t be there for them.  After six weeks at HARP, my daughters couldn’t believe the difference – I was finally smiling every once in a while and every conversation was no longer about “Woe is Me”… After 4 months I went home and have stayed sober for close to two years – I handled a very civil divorce sober and my ex and I get along better than ever now.  There is no way I could have gotten to where I’m at alone.  I tried and things just kept getting worse – I’m so grateful for the guidance and support I received here!. THANK YOU FOR MY LIFE!

Pat and Lorianne, and the Witts Inn staff, were very kind to me. They even allowed me into their home when I was detoxing opiates. Because of their efforts and the support of NA I have now been clean and sober since December 2nd. 2005 — seven years and three months! For this I will be eternally grateful :-)

COMMENTS:

Newport Academy saved my life. Life to date, going to Newport Academy was the best decision my family and I made. I attended Newport Academy when I was 17 years old. I was from a small town on the east coast and when my parents didn’t find anywhere that had a small, reputable, individualized program for adolescents, they started looking on the west coast (although I just heard they’re opening a program in Connecticut in the fall-JEALOUS!). They then chose NA and I left for California a few days later. When I arrived, they told my parents that family participation is MANDATORY, which was super important. So many of my friends that went away to different rehabs barely saw their parents while they were in treatment. I was super lucky though and my parents and I attended family therapy weekly (for like 5 hours!) while I was there. In addition to the family program, I really loved how small the program was. I spent 45 days with 5 other amazing females. Although I wanted to go to a co-ed program, I’m super grateful that my parents recognized the need for a gender specific place. While I was in treatment, I barely saw boys which I really needed (although they do have a boys only program too!). The food was delicious and helped me to form healthy eating patterns. The staff was really well trained, so they knew how to positively encourage me to eat and develop these patterns. All and all- Newport Academy was amazing. In fact, when they told me I was discharging in a week, I begged to stay!!! Now, as an alumni, I still have relationships with other people I went to treatment with and I have 4 years sober!!!!

COMMENTS:

The absolute last thing I wanted to do was go to treatment but my life sucked sooo bad! They did an intervention on me and I decided to go and I have to say it was the greatest decision in my life. I got there and I was so upset and closed minded and they just helped me ease into everything and just allowed me to be me without pushing 12-steps on me or some therapy I didn’t want or anything like that. The staff was really cool and just totally helped me out without making it a total nightmare and now things are pretty cool. I still think about getting loaded sometimes but all in all I’ve only been sober for like 60 days and I feel solid in recovery and have some great sober friends. Thanks CARS…you guys are pretty cool :)

COMMENTS:

Life is precious, and it is rare that one gets a second chance. I am so grateful that I was able to spend the time I did at Recovery Advocates. It is truly a one of a kind. The atmosphere and surroundings were surreal. Who gets to wake up on a lake each day, have all there meals cooked, and really feel that you are at home? The staff there is amazing, and would do anything – above and beyond their means – to help us. There was a true family dynamic between the staff and the clients. The feeling I got when I was there, was indescribable. I really felt like I was in heaven.
